Chris Meade: a transmedia writer, Doctor of Nearlyology, asemic artist, dancer and improv musician. Author of the novel What Didn’t Quite and host of The Nearly Show documenting chemo in lockdown. In 2008 Chris founded if:book UK. He was a participant in Tino Sehgal’s These Associations and a founding member of Academy Inegales. His book The Thoughts of Betty Spital was published by Penguin Books and he won the George Orwell Prize for his play We Two Boys. Chris was a Community Arts Worker, Director of the Opening The Book Festival in Sheffield, head of Imagination Services in Birmingham Library, Director of The Poetry Society, and CEO of Booktrust. Chris died in January 2022.
